Local Government Super ranks number one for green investment globally
01 May 2017
LGS has achieved the number one ranking in the global Asset Owners Disclosure Project (AODP) for the third time since 2012.
The AODP – an industry benchmark report – annually assesses how 500 of the world’s biggest investors mitigate the risks and challenges associated with climate change within their portfolio. This year, the AODP ranking – which traditionally looks at super funds – has been broadened to include asset managers.
Commenting on the win, Acting Chief Executive Officer Donna Heffernan said: “It is a real honour to be recognised as a global leader in managing environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks in such a highly-regarded global forum – particularly with this year’s broader entry list.”
"We hold a long-term belief that climate change is a significant investment risk that needs to be addressed to protect the longevity of our members’ retirement savings. This international recognition is a testament to our achievements in securing long-term, consistent returns for members while simultaneously working towards a more sustainable future."
