Peter Lambert

Chief Executive Officer

Peter Lambert has almost 30 years of expertise in the super industry with extensive experience in employer-sponsored super at life offices and consultancy firms, as well as expert roles at Transfield and Goodman Fielder.

Peter accepted the role of Fund Secretary for Local Government Super just over six years ago and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in December 2007.

Tony Griffin

Chief Operating Officer

Tony Griffin has significant experience as a finance professional, in investment operations and general management, holding senior positions within superannuation, fund administration and investment management for over 20 years.

Tony oversees the day-to-day operations of LGS, managing our service providers to ensure that all activities are within agreed service and quality standards. Tony is also responsible for ensuring that the key financial objectives of the fund are met.

Craig Turnbull

Chief Investment Officer

Craig Turnbull has worked in the investment sector for over 25 years as a portfolio manager, a fund manager and a chief investment officer, developing an expert understanding of both local and international equity markets.

Craig joined the management team in July 2008 and he currently represents Local Government Super on the Management Committee of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors.

Michelle Hopwood

Head of Marketing and Communications

Michelle Hopwood has over 20 years experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on strategy, brand management, direct marketing and member communications. She has held senior roles within superannuation, banking, energy and health insurance.

Michelle leads the Marketing and Communications team and manages strategic planning as well as the development and design of a wide variety of communication materials, marketing programs and events.

Donna Heffernan

Head of Legal and Compliance

“Our aim is to ensure that we provide quality service to our members in an ethical, compliant and transparent manner.”

Donna Heffernan has over 30 years experience in the finance industry, initially in accounting, auditing and taxation, and has held senior positions in the both the private and government sectors. During the last 15 years, Donna has specialised in the compliance field within the superannuation industry.

Donna heads up the Legal and Compliance team, who provide best practice advice and support to both LGS management and our members.

John Hildred

Senior Client Relationship Manager

"My goal is to make super as simple as possible for both employers and employees."

John Hildred has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years as a financial planner and a client relationship manager as well as roles in marketing and compliance.

John manages a team of client relationship managers who look after the super needs of local government employers and employees across New South Wales.

Hannah Deukmejian

Head of Risk

"Effective risk management is essential for us to optimise our performance through innovation, development and exploration of opportunities".

Hannah Deukmejian has over 16 years experience in a variety of financial service roles including compliance, risk management and governance, and her former roles include Chief Compliance Officer at BNP Paribas and Executive, Regulatory Risk at Commonwealth Bank.

Hannah joined the management team to ensure effective risk management and risk governance across the scheme and its subsidiaries as well as advising the Board on risk management.

Errol Umar

Regional Manager

Errol Umar is a fully-qualified financial planner with over 14 years experience in financial services and as a senior financial planner before moving to management.

Errol manages the financial planning program for his region and leads a team of financial planners across the greater Sydney area and in southern New South Wales.

Kim Heng

Head of Product and Projects

Kim Heng has over 15 years experience in information technology including 10 years in online product and project management with a number of roles in state government as well as financial services.

Kim heads up the product and project team, managing a wide range of strategic projects, product development and the super fund's website.

Maurie Bettinzoli

Regional Manager

Maurie Bettinzoli has worked in financial services for over 35 years including roles in retail lending and investments at the Commonwealth Bank before moving into financial planning 20 years ago.

Maurie manages the financial planning program for his region and heads up a team of financial planners located across northern New South Wales.
